From their previous comments, I don't expect Bush/Paulson to allow GM to fail. They've got $15bil left from the first half of the TARP. It's probably already earmarked for the auto biz. But they aren't going to do it in advance if the banking bailouts are any indication. Most of them happened on a Sunday night when the company was to file bankruptcy Monday morning.

Canadian Gov't to the rescue with partial bailout, and this will be putting pressure on the U.S.

http://toronto.ctv.ca/#TopVideoAn (Click "Play" under 'Lead Story" & CTV News @ 6p.m. for Friday Dec 12 to the right under "CTV Video Player"

http://toronto.ctv.ca/servlet/an/loc...TorontoNewHome

This amout is 20% of the U.S. amount. Once the U.S. Gov't gets their act in gear, the Canadian gov't will increase their loans as time goes on.
CTV news also reported that the car plants will close for all of January and return on February 9th, however they said "The Camaro Plant will remain open." that was a direct quote

A tick over 13.0 sec. and you're through the quarter-mile. It's a rush, of course, but not overly dramatic. Try the same thing with this pair's predecessors of 1970 or so and you'll find yourself in a bit of a wrestling match. Ain't progress wonderful? Maybe yes, and maybe sometimes it's fun to wrestle."
