BBK shorties

Just wondering if I can expect anything by adding these except for looks? I do have a cai. Just got the headers in today looking to install on this weekend. Don't really care if they add more hp. I was hoping for a little deeper tone from the exuast. I have axle back flow masters.

To be honest the gains, performance and sound wise won't be night and day but they do help out. The factory cats are really restricive too, change them out and you'll have a nice little set up. But then the long tube argument will pop up!

+1 I think you will achieve what you're aiming for....better sound, little bit of gains, (and depending what finish they are) looks are an improvement over the stockers.

one member dynoed at BBK with their cai and shorties and got only 12 hp between the two If cai is 8-10(?), then the other is minimal gains. Others have done combo of shorties, high flows and tune and got from 29-37hp

I already had a CAI, Solo hi-flow cats and Corsa catback before I put on BBK shorties.. I don't have any before and after dyno pulls, so I can't say what it did or didn't gain.. The only thing I could tell was there was a slight change in tone after installing the BBK's.. It seems slightly deeper in tone, but not much..

Just finished install on headers. Very impressed, deeper sound, little more torque at wheels. Looks fantastic. Worth the time and money. Did make a difference to the car. Doing a fuse pull tonight, just to see if it changes. Overall impressed.

Add some Hi-Flow cats & you'll really feel the difference!

Congrats!

If you really wanna have fun, and another benefit of Shorties imho, replace that midpipe with a catless piece and watch out!

Then you can easily swap it back to normal if ever needed.

About the same gain as a LT. Great to see you up on the forums too brotha!!

Take care and keep in touch!
Ivan

Hey Ivan. Good to hear from you. Do you mean run 2 straight pipes from the cats back to the axle backs?

I did the same setup, bbk shorties and jba offroad midpipes! Without those cats, its loud! Ive heard louder but its loud enough for me. Sort of raspy because i got slp loudmouth 2 yours is mellower because of the flowmasters..

It feels alot faster! Too, On top of third its around 100 mph.. It seems like a 4 or 5 mph gain than what it was before the cat deletes..
