yea I remember seeing a video of it on youtube, someone bought a brand new iroc and put it in a trailer for the next twenty years, when they took it out of storage, it was covered with dust, but the inside was perfect, still had plastic covers on the seats and everything

Perfect example of Rare != valuable. This guy is equally as stupid (ok probably far more stupid) as the guys who bought 2010 Camaro's and stored them similarly. Just because it says "Collectors Edition" on the side does not make it "collectable".
I would be surprised if he sees more than 15 grand for that car. What a waste.

i too like them mainly the Mark VIIIs as they had the same 4 cam 32v V8 that was in the 96-04 Cobras. I used to be a member of a site called www.tccoa.com (thunderbird cougar club of america) and they had some pretty sweet Marks on that forum. one guy swapped the Mark version and put in the supercharged version from the 99 cobra aka the terminator. other than the engine swap a new cowl hood and rear end (taken directly from the cobra as the mark/bird/cougars all shared the same IRS rear end only the gears were different) and transmission (also taken from a cobra) and adding the clutch (taken from the supercoupe/cougar xr7 but beefed up for the power of that 390 horse V8), the rest of the car was stock. He later put in better brakes and wheels tires but even just with the engine/tran/rear end swap that thing was FLYING down the track at dragstrips on youtube videos. I would LOVE a Mark VIII as most of the buyers were older folks who babied them and kept the miles low

Those Mark VIII's were sweet....rode awesome, put out 300 horses, and still got 24 mpg in town....love them....would love to have it too, but KBB says the thing is only worth about $8300, even in perfect shape.
Assuming it isn't a restore of some kind, that thing has been sitting for a long time....hoses, belts, tires, door seals, etc are likely shot.....by the time you are all said and done, buy it for $8500 or less and add $1000 for tires and another $2000 for miscellanenous other parts.....still not bad for a car with under a 100 miles on it.....of course, then start driving it, and find out what else rotted while it sat..... |

yeah i want one but after reading about them on wikipedia the later models with the HID headlights are VERY $$$ to replace as the company that made them for Lincoln (sylvania) does not make them anymore. if you have a car that has them ford has a $1400 kit (yes that's fourteen hundred
dollars) to convert them to halogen. that and the air suspension has problems. my 95 40th anniversary bird had the air suspension but it was more for firming up the ride or softening it. the set up in the mark was more soft all the time. i did not care for it and when it started to fail, i had it dis connected and put standard shock/struts in the car like on the lower end models. but i would still want to get a mark 8 down the line or even a nice mark 7 with the old school 5.0 V8 in it .

Very hard to predict what is going to be worth money. Hw would have made 10X his initial money properly invested since 89. Should have bought APPLE stock!

Probably just set the "buy it now" price way higher than he expects to mislead buyers into bidding higher thinking they are getting a good deal.
