Modding question

So I know this forum isn't exactly known for Mustang expertise, but I had a few questions some of you might be able to help me with.

I've got an '07 V6 that I want to convert to dual exhaust and I was thinking about ordering the parts and doing it myself. What sort of tools would I need? Would I need to cut the old exhaust pieces off after the cats and, if so, what would I need to accomplish that? Additionally can I simply order an X-pipe and then put any GT cat-back system on or would I need an axle-back system?

Thanks for any help you guys have to offer on this, even if it is about the "enemy" car.
