It's a 2013 Mustang with IRS.

It is not necessarily a completely different platform, but the rear tires do look planted further out than normal.

To me it looks like they shoe-horned in an IRS assembly the way they did with the 2001 Cobra.

They sure did butcher that 2013 body. Curious what they will actually do.

IRS will be the end of an era. Too bad. Part of me likes the SRA.

Hopefully they don't replace what is a good SRA with a mediocre IRS.

The next Mustang, while probably looking nice, won't look different from other Fords since they will all have the same design styling cues, which therefore make the next Mustang more blah IMO.

They are not going to shoe horn the IRS, they've had it designed and cooking for a couple years. Erik

yeah, i mean the next mustang will be a new platform i believe.
lol, they put the C5's transaxle in 4thgen Camaros for testing, but that didn't make them disguised Vette's.

Typically at this stage for a 2015 program you would be seeing production intent chassis bits. This includes the fuel tank so that makes the cover/camo over the fuel filler interesting. It means they don't want you to see it which means it's different and gives an indication of the cars size. Is it wider? or narrower? Who knows.

I agree with this 100%. My '99 Cobra had IRS, and I didn't like it for straight-line racing. It did corner nicely, though.
