its been out for awhile, remember reading an article a year ago about a guy who bought one.

Actually that was a police version the guy had bought and put some whels and SS badges on, slightly after that GM stopped them from being sold to civilians.

I was lucky enough to meet that guy and check out his car. Pretty cool, but as Stew said, purchased through a loophole that's now been closed.

There will not be a Chevrolet Caprice Police Patrol Vehicle available to civilians.

There may, however, be a 'regular' Chevrolet Caprice available to civilians.

If the Caprice comes to the US, the only changes would be the removal of the police package elements. So it would look something like this:

Changing the sheet metal isn't going to happen until the next generation, but even then I wouldn't expect it to be all that dramatic.

If you compare the image that DGthe3 just posted and the Motor Trend spy shot. Examine the similarity of side skirts between the two. They are practically identical. This seems to suggest of a minor tweak of the front and rear fascia has been performed.

Looks totally dated design wise. But wait a sec, those pics are the VE commodore. By my understanding were getting the next gen VF commodore that also launches in austrialia in 2013.

The Motor trend spy shot is the 14 impala which is a totally different car sharing the fwd/awd platform of the new Caddie XTS.
