PS3 Crashed!!!!

Im so right now. My PS3 just crashed and my disc is in the console. Csnt turn it on. Light goes green, then yellow and then blinks red continuously. i was having so much fun on skyrim. So from what ive been reading its called the YLOD! Yellow light of death. No way around it since i have the original 60gb. Just the thought i didnt save what i was doing and that its gonna take at least 2 weeks to get my exchange. I know i know why did i exhchange it. I dont have any PS2 games cause i gave them to my bro which he cant use because he has the latest ps3. FML!!!

u know u can take it apart to get ur game out of there I did and then i sold it for like 150 bucks broken a couple years ago. Then got a newer slim one. Suck that u have to start over ur saves. I think some best buys can fix the originals as well.

Happen all the time with the old models. They will all get the YLOD sooner or later.

Guess I'm lucky then. I've had mine two months after they were released and it's still going strong. I've had 3 different 360s in that time span though.

I don't play 360 online either. Just the red eye of death every time. :(

I called sony and they offered to exchange it or pay for them to service the system. It was much cheaper to get the exchange and im also getting a 120 gb over the 60 i had. Also they will remove my game and send it back to me. Just sucks that im gameless now. Lol. I guess i need to play with smokey moe at the track in the meantime.

Ylod. I had it twice. I have the 60gb launch system. Fix it yourself good 2hrs and your done you should get artic silver 5 thermal compound and a heat gun go on you tube and just follow step by step. I know nothing about computers and it worked for me.

Should have used the cloud save feature - would have prevented the data loss. If you don't plan to renew PS+, don't forget that you can backup your data on an external HD or USB drive too.

I was lucky enough when it happened to my 80Gig fatty, that I was able to use the PS3 to PS3 Data Transfer Utility through the RJ45/Ethernet to get my saves and DLC etc...

One thing to note - If you're a "trophy hunter/whore" you will notice that when you first synch the new PS3, your trophy list will be restored (based on your PSN profile and the last time you synched), but when you pop in any game that you have trophies from for the first time, all the trophies you already have will "ding" again as you re-accomplish the tasks. To remedy this, you need to re-synch after the game has loaded, or anytime thereafter.

i have fixed several this way, and it is not a perminant fix! some may last months and some may only last weeks.!

Ya thats why i didnt want to try that because i new that crap could come back. Tomorrow will be a week. on the other hand i have been spending more time with my Jackson WRXT!!!
