patina the paint

Just bought a 69 chevy pickup at the street rod nationals. I want to age, or patina the paint to get a barn find effect, What is the best method to do that, sandpaper or scotchbrite, and any tricks I should know, thanks in advance for any info.

Painting Faux Patina

There was also a good episode of Trucks! on Spike TV's Powerblock that showed a patina job an old truck. It was good info.
