This is the Muscle Car that changed America

This is the most interesting Pony car fact in the world. Please no rude comments I own both the car so don't take me a Blue Oval Fan boy.

Aren't you ford guys very defensive about making sure the mustang is known as the first Pony car..
Shank is right the first recognized "muscle Car' was the 64 GTO..

No the Mustang shaped the muscle car American muscle car era the GTO was the first but not as iconic. Also the term pony car refers to the mustang. Did you not watch the video of the sales that still have not been topped EVER.

The mustang was a small car with a small displacement motor ...a muscle car was known as a medium or "intermediate " sized car with a large displacement motor...The GTO was out before the mustang...Sales spurred other manufacturers to produce their own versions of the "pony Car" but did little to change the "muscle Car" format...

If I wanted your opinion that the mustang was the first muscle car, even though a gto is, I would go to a Mustang forum.

+1 to this..and if were talking about iconic I would give that to the 1969 Camaro. Mustang was popular yes, but IMO the 1969 Camaro takes the cake as being iconic for pony cars. Muscle cars I would give the iconic award to the Chevelle, GTO, and/or even possibly the Charger. All of which are sexy cars for the time, again IMO.

[QUOTE=SSC Super Venom;2004932]Ok shank... your just plain stupid talking about something irrelevent and sorry that you Camaro fans dont find muscle car history intresting. If I must say you guys are very close minded, immature and just plain stupid... Hopefully you dont speak for the rest of you the Bowtie gang because you guys are just plain a discrace. If it doesnt have to do with the camaro it doesnt matter. Sorry that the camaro didnt have a video like this either[QUOTE]

and this right here is not true at all..most of us on this site have an appreciation for cars, pony cars or muscle cars. Some have tried to correct you that the Mustang, though really popular during the time, was not a muscle car as you described..its a pony car. Also, a lot of this, that, or the other car being more iconic than the other or better than the other is also partially taken to ones own personal preference.. I don't see many of us being immature at all..
