Kia takes the Optima out of optimal functionality

A block from my work, my tire goes flat. I pull into a gas station right there and get to work.

Opening the trunk, I see the spare. I loosen the mound of rust that used to be a screw and remove the donut. I then get to the jack. It is a tumor-like mass on the side of the donut. It won't budge. The 9-year-old car has this much rust. A gas station employee lets me borrow his Scion's jack. I proceed to lift the vehicle. Now, I try to undo the lugs, but they are covered by a center cap that has a small notch in the side. A pen isn't strong enough to open it, and my screwdriver is too bug. A guy asks if he can help. I explain that I am struggling to get this piece off, so he goes to his car to see what he has that can help. He finds scissors, and they remove the piece. Why would any manufacturer require the use of a tool that is rarely in a person's car?

Now, I'm home a full two hours late.

If the tool was in there, it was probably rusted to the rest of the vehicle, like the jack.

I'm getting a tire now.

I can't wait to get a Camaro.

I had a tire installed on Saturday but didn't get a chance to post. Now the power steering is out.

How do I get stuck with cars in this condition?

I'm so glad that thing is gone. The engine on that thing, however, was still strong. This Kia is hitting the same stage of falling apart about 30k miles earlier. This is not okay. I might have to buy a used Chevy before I can get a Camaro, pushing my purchase back another year or so. :(

If everyone on Camaro5 donates a dollar, I can have a new Camaro in no time.

Look at the emblem in the grille. If it says K-I-A, it means the car has already been killed in action.

Hope you get your Camaro soon (and yes, get the V8).
