Hello!
|
Hrm...that would be like taking the "V" out of V8...it's just an 8 then
Might as well lose the "V" on Vette...make it ette...maybe add a CHE in front and then get a Chevette...there...GM has it's new/old turd back! A Vette has a V8, period, rack it.../THREAD!

If you are going to change, I would go V-10 before I would go V-6.

Mid engine is possible, the current Vette is either mid engined or very close to it as is. A mid engine car is has its engine between the front and rear axles, doesn't matter whether it is in front or behind the cabin.
Now, about the V6 ... it just doesn't make sense to offer a turbo 6 in the Corvette. It won't be of any benefit over a V8, assuming there is still a V8 in the lineup somewhere. There is no real cost benefit, no real power benefit, no real weight benefit, no real fuel economy benefit. There isn't a good reason to do it. No, thats taking the 8 out of V8. A V6 is still a V-type engine. Taking the V out would require going to a boxer or inline configuration.

Honestly, It wouldnt kill me to see a twin-turbo V6. I mean a twin-turbo V6 can have that V8 power in stock form, but every bolt-on can net more gain, and upgrading the turbos can net amazing gain. I wish it was twin turbo V6 alternative to most V8 models in some cars. Like the Camaro, Mustang, and etc. Cars like the Taurus SHO is nice. I love to see the Mustang with the same engine. A corvette being a lighter car would be awesome.

Hmmm lets think about it C8 would be like 2018, do anyone here running off saying vette gotta have a V8 really think its gonna happen with the government killing that stuff off now as we speak. I bet the V6 twin turbo by then will be better then any V8 currently, if its power just as well and is still a street burner and world class performer then whats the problem. Quit living thinking nothing must change and certain things can't change it's standards. Would you rather the Vette just disappear or have a Turbo in it thats still kicking ass and thinking names later. I vote for the later.
