ZR-1 getting "backhanded compliments"?

But to complain that the ZR-1 still "looks like a Corvette"....come on...

And for the rest of the complaints...they forget to mention that you get the ZR-1 for, some to a lot less money.

Yeah, but one has to take where the review is coming from with a grain of salt. Remember, Clarkson's favorite car was a Ford GT and to have this car spank that one probably chinks at his armor a bit. I don't know if he's the one that wrote this review because I couldn't find an author, but I'm sure he had an influence nonetheless.

The complaint about the interior is so old. Maybe it's not made from the same materials as exotics but I don't really think supercars and exotics are the same. I don't buy a car that has seating and dash surfaces made from camel genitalia (joking); I buy a car like this for speed and handling. The rest of the aminities are for the wine and cheese crowd, IMVHO.

I'm so tired of people criticizing Chevys for looking like Chevys. They did the same thing with the Cruze and Volt, saying the style was too derivative, like they just copied the Malibu. According to the press GM is the ONLY company that is not allowed to have common styling throughout a brand.

Geeze...they're right. The Corvette ZR1 DOES look like a Corvette!! How terrible is that? You know, I find it absolutely amazing how they can stand those BMWs, or Aston Martins, then...Oh gosh, and those Lamborghinis -- they're not as bad as a Corvette looking like a Corvette...but dang!!!!! They really are champs, those Top Gear reviewers, to put up with such similar-looking cars.
