Its all gonna lead back to the software, Toyota is just trying to save face and dismiss it, cause I bet they broke many rules like that to make it work for now, and hope it didn't rear its ugly head while the work on fly by wire for cars that doesn't cost like it does in a plane and is as safe as planes.

Fly-by-wire is not new technology in the automotive world. Trucks and buses have used fly by wire since the 80's, and I haven't seen a rash of runaway trucks and buses in the last 20 years. I have thought from the begining that this was a software problem, and Toyota's recall was a save face and get back into production move. If Toyota had told the NTSB that they had no clue what was wrong, they would have been shut down cold.

Thumper, are you only saying you hate TBW because Toyota is having problems? The professor also reviewed GMs system and stated it could not do what he claims Toyota does.

The lady crying on cap hill about calling her husband one last time was a knockout punch, even more so as Toyota dismissed her like she was a loon like its not their problem.

Throttle by wire sucks. But then again its no fun when your return spring breaks and your linkage detaches from the bottom of the pedal either....

Nono lol. I just dont like the feel of it. I dunno I do feel disconnected from the car in a way. For sure this is probly a Toyota only problem or the electronics/components.

Saw that on the news. IMO, Toyota is going to have a pretty long row to hoe to get back in the good graces of the US market.

My 05 Cobalt SS had drive by wire and had a very pronounced lag between
my foot and actual acceleration.
I also had an 07 that was slightly better.

The Camaro IMO is much better and hardly noticable.
Throttle response is almost instant, at least on mine.

And yes, I've had the throttle stick on my 67 SS at 120 and scared the hell
out of me.

Either way, crap happens!
