Cobalt making GM lots of money
I love threads where I get to say this.
![]() I told you so. What did I tell you? You probably don't remember. I told you that CAFE would push big engine buyers to small engine buyers, and that would hurt the Silverado, but the Cobalt would prosper. In fact, sales of the Cobalt are up 10% for 2008. This looks great for the Cruze and other compacts in GM's lineup. Article is by Leftlane. Discuss.

I love my Cobalt.
I'm glad it's turning some heads and numbers for GM. It's really outstanding news to me, because the Cobalt doesn't have a stellar interior. Being that it still sells so well, I'm really excited to watch the Cruze show up and just blow the doors off its sales numbers. Amazing fuel economy, and great interior? We have a winnah!!

The Cobalt is a good little car from anything that I've heard. Actually, there are very few bad little cars out there now. The most surprising thing with the Cobalt is how much better the coupes look than the sedans. Normally I don't really care about that. The cobalt also gets very good fuel economy with the XFE trim, too bad they don't make many of those (I have no clue why . . . build up some CAFE credits!)

Yeah the sedan just doesn't do it for me. The coupe is just worlds better. The sedan seems too generic. Other than the interior, the car is great. I think it is very underrated.

I agree, I've seen the coupe and sedan and the 4-door just looks like every other car on the road.
