Dump wagons suck anyway. We never set our brkes unloading because the truck sometimes needs to move forward as you dump.

If any one of those guys knew anything about trucks they should have tried to jump in and pull the brake. They had time to attempt it and jump off.

My car is an automatic and is parked on a level driveway. Should I go out and set the parking brake?

same, but i drive a stick. i know a lot of people like to leave it in gear, but i use the break and leave it in neutral

^ this, plus knowing me, i would keep forgetting it was in gear and take my foot off the clutch after starting the car I've done that a couple times after getting in from having the oil changed (mechanic left it in gear).

i always set the parking brake on automatics. just to lessen chance of any tranny problem. i know most folks never do that though.
