Was pickin up some stuff at the Nugget today for super bowl and of course you have to always always always go down the magazine isle...it's a rule, my wife hates it by the way, but saw this on the the cover of Motor Trend mag. Thought it was pretty funny.

Saw this issue as I was going through the airport - Hungry for Camaro? Base price on this thing is $60,000 and think it was rated 500hp. SS with supercharger still cheaper and faster then that right? Plus the Camaro looks better

I bought one the other day....the mag, not the car! Great looking car for a Rustang and the price is around $63,000. This car is not a direct competition to the Camaro at that price, more like an SLP ZL575 or Hennessey after market one. I'll bet when GM finally comes out with the Z-28 it'll kick the GT350's a$$ for a lot less money!

I have the issue and was perplexed by the story. I thought they were coming out with a less expensive version of the GT500, but thats not what they're doing at all. You basically buy a new Mustang GT and then have the $33995 Shelby conversion performed. Its seems to be in direct competition with the GT500. Why not just buy a GT500 for less money?

Only if it orders out and a Camaro gets delivered to the garage its parked in. Considering the price and rarity, almost all of those will be garage queens.

Here those f...ing auto writers go again. There going to compare a Shelby 350supercharged motor, custom high dollar suspension, and other add ons simular to the GT 500 and compare it to the Camaro SS. There will be well over $25000 more options and they will think they are a good equal comparsion.

i was thinking about this too. I'm really tired of every six months MT shows off the latest special mustang and puts a crack about the Camaro on the cover. Or even when the Camaro was out of production they'd write something to the effect that Chevy was scared to come to the fight.
let me tell ya' something. If the cars you want to race cost half of what yours did, you have some sort of a problem. Hey , how about a Porsche vs. a Camaro. Or how about buying a Ferrari, and getting all happy you stayed with a 50k Corvette.

competition is the mustang gt & challenger.
