With No Competitors Mustang Sales Fall

Ford says Mustang is priced right despite record low sales.

https://www.msn.com/en-ca/autos/othe...4da8576e&ei=11

The Base GT starts at 55K cnd

The Premium 61k

The Dark Horse 85k

Even the 4 banger starts at 41k

Obviously options are extra $$$

Overall bad for anyone who likes the segment. No competitor will feel the need to compete and bring a product to market (Camaro).
I'm interested to see how the gas powered Charger sells.

There is no competition to drive up enthusiasm; Naturally things will fall off. There is nothing to compare Mustang to................so no excitement then no traffic into the showroom. Couple this with ridiculous pricing................and the Mustang is headed for very dark days.

It makes me shake my head.

I picked mine up last summer. It was on the high side for pricing but less that every 2SS I looked at due to the dealers gouging.

I love it though. No ZL1 but it is nice.

I can’t tell if you’re making a joke or not as I have seen others not know this but the new charger has multiple power train options. You can get a gas powered one but unfortunately no more V8’s. That being said 500 HP twin turbo v6 probably makes more torque than the outgoing NA 6.4 hemi.

IIRC the Hurricane in that car will be the 550HP/520TQ. Not sure the RMP yet but I am sure the tq will come on lower than 4100.

Outgoing 6.4 is 485hp@6100/475tq@4100

My guess is it runs a solid mid-11 and 60 in 3.5ish

And if I had to take a guess the sales at first will surge then fall off. Obviously depending on the economy at the time.

Inflation went up 30% after 2020 but peoples wages didnt. Until wages go up, people will continue to buy on the cheap.

Way to expensive + inflation + consumer's state of finances + interest rates = low sales.

For sure. They're letting us know the only reason their EV Charger is here is to cure the world of boring, soulless cars. I've seen those ads too and I'm sure regulation compliance has nothing to do with it.

Anyways the EV launched first but they are offering the inline 6 three litre twin turbo engine currently available in the Ram. I want to know how that one sells. Not sure on pricing for the gas version but the EV starts around 70k which, to me, is too much. But everything seems too expensive now or I'm just not making enough money.

I think everything is too expensive. Even with the incentives things cost too much imo. A decent truck after incentives is mid 50’s. Thats ridiculous. If this inline 6 charger is mid 50’s, it actually won’t be priced too bad. 550 HP is a decent amount for mid 50’s. I’m thinking it will start at low 60’s though unfortunately.

The WEF model and motto for the world is "you will own nothing and be happy"

It's not too expensive if the 1% can afford it

So I shot from the hip in saying the EV Charger started at 70K. Also we're speaking different languages as I'm talking Canadian dollars. I just checked and the base EV Charger (RT) is $57,790 CAD. I was very surprised when I went on the US site and saw that the RT starts at $59,595 USD. This seems backwards but as a Canadian consumer I'll take the win.

So maybe the 6 cylinder starts around 50K USD which actually doesn't sound horrible. I hope they make a six speed manual an option.
