Perspective: what do you not like about your current car?

Do Over..

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Lets start over...(i have deleted my previous posts) I am sorry if my question was not very clear, and I hope you can understand what I am getting at.

Ok, We have see all the dozens of design and features complaint threads in the forum.

Just to get a perspective on what people thought of their current car when they first bought it as to the design, features, what you didn't like about it or would have like to have had available on it.
I know many of the cars people on here are not brand new models but have gone through several model years of improvements.

Post what you felt was a design problem or feature/option that you were not happy about when first purchased then compare this to the complaints people post about the design and features that the Camaro has been getting.
I think that will put things more into perspective..
I'll go first.

Sky:
I would loved to have just a little more interior space.
I would like better placement of window controls.
More trunk space.

HHR:
Window controls on the doors instead of the console.
Smaller rear headrests.

I've owned my Mustang for over 10 years, and I gotta say that I love my car. After changing the tires, shocks and struts, last month...It feels like new again. Ultimately the interior is cracking on the doors where I lay my left arm on and the center console area is not even to the car after having the AC replaced. Overall, considering the years and how much I drive it, I hope the Camaro lasts as long and looks as good in the interior if not better..

2002 Subaru Impreza TS Wagon
• It's a wagon.
• The interior is damaged, worn, and stained due to mistreatment.
• The trade value is terrible compared to my previous car.
• Did I say it's a wagon? I really don't like that it is a wagon.
• The passenger side rear hub cap fell off.
• It has hub caps. That means it has steelies, and nobody likes steelies.
• The fuel efficiency blows for a 4-banger. This is especially disappointing since Japanese brands tend to thrive on efficient 4-cylinder motors.
• It isn't a WRX or RS.
• Driver fog light fails frequently.
• The seats aren't nearly as comfortable as my previous car.
• I know I said this before, but it's a wagon.

'95 cavalier Z24:
- automatic transmission
- have to refill coolant water every two days (there's no leak though)
- windshield has a huge crack from the driver side right through the middle
- huge dent in the driver side door
- driver side mirror glued to the car
- hood-ankle is broken
- hand brake is not working
- interior is worn out
- A/C sometimes doesn't work or only kicks in after 15 minutes (great during miami summers!)
- one fog light not working
- when I make a right turn I get a weird sound from the front/right wheel
- i only get like 280-300 miles on one tank. used to be about 350 a year ago.
- "check engine" & "check coolant" lights go on on random occasions

basically all i've done for the last half year is go back and forth to work (six mile roundtrip) and to the beach (30 mile roundtrip) every now and then because I doubt the car would make it thorugh longer trips...

3. Nothing to do with the original design.
4. ditto 1
5&6 that is what i am looking for you didn't like the hubcaps.
7. Again what i am looking for ...bad MPG
8. Where those models even available then?
9. ditto 1
I didn't buy it. It's a family car, and the title isn't in my name. Due to some drama I'd prefer to keep private, the insurance money I received in compensation for my totaled Cobalt did not buy me a new car. That money went to someone else's new car, and I got this piece of dirt.

Since this is a family used car, damage is not my fault but that of a family member; however, failure to design components that prevent staining is Subaru's fault. The plastic is cheap and easy to damage.

The mileage is a design flaw.

The WRX has been available for a very long time. The RS was a long-time sub-WRX model that was also available.

Hmm I like my Charger, plenty of power, interior room, plenty of room for a couple of coolers, beach chairs and a large umbrella in the trunk when me and a few of the guys hit the Jersey shore

what do I don't like about my car:

1. The Interior has the bland and simple look to it that I like, not too flashy but it could be alot better, wheres the wood grain....... as long as I got leather seats its not so bad

2. The car note, Its really kicking my ass at $435, at a montly income of $750.00-$800.00 I have enough money just to be broke

Car note

I have to give my mom $ 195 cause she helps me out with insurance

cell phone bill $ 105.00

Computer bill from dell

Internet bill

and gas money

yeah I'm a little poor, but its worth it

98 Monte carlo, dont get me wrong i love my car, but i have OCD, some small things that drive me nuts!
5. grey interior, shows everything
4. I Hate the fact that it is green, but the price was too good to pass up.
3. Thermostat location, period (had to replace this myself, some thing this simple should not take an hour and a half to replace)
2. windshield wipers, the first delay is a delay of one second, the last delay is one and a half seconds, Why only give me a half second difference in delays, ITS STUPID! I live in indiana, it sprinkles every other day out here. I would like to have more of a delay, drives me nuts!
1.And the number one thing i don't like about my car is that it is not a Camaro, but it is at least a

I have a 2002 Dodge Stratus which I bought new. I'm very happy with the car, though there is still a bit of room for improvement. The inside door panels are not pretty at all and cheaply built...the trim around the window switches and the door pull on both front doors have broken into several pieces just from normal wear and tear. The floor panel in the trunk is pretty flimsy as well. The front cupholders sit under the dash, and it's difficult to find them while driving, and taller beverage containers will not fit.

Otherwise, I like it quite a bit. It's comfortable, speedy, reliable, good-looking, useful, easy on fuel economy, and easy to clean.

2005 Mustang v6
-The inside, even though I have the upgraded interior, just looks and feels cheap, the leather is NOTHING compared to the leather in my dads previous car (Hummer H2) and it is still not as good as his current ride (GMC Sierra..think thats what it is called anyway..), the plastic is cheap feeling and flimsy, and I hate the fact that all the light on the inside at night is a sickly looking green (Even with the my-color upgrade, all MC changed was the gauge colors, every thing else is still that nasty green) .

-The throttle response, my car has plenty of kick, it just has this TERRIBLE throttle lag, I floor it, and I still end up sitting there for maybe half a second before the car realized the pedal is on the floor. This can be fixed with a tune, but you shouldn't have to fix something like that.

-No LSD, This is really just a complaint more than an issue, I just hate the fact that my car is peg-legged. LSD wasn't even an option on the v6's.

-The fact that the hood has a 'prop' when its open instead of hood struts (like the challenger....)

Despite all of this I love my car though, I love it to death...but I'm dumping her in a heartbeat the very second I see those camaros come off the truck

If we are talking about design flaws...
  • The tiny grill openings make it almost in possible for air to get in.
  • The cupholders are out of reach while driving.
  • The factory spoiler on the back looks retarded.
  • The shifter is HUGE.
  • The only way to get to the radiator is to remove the bumper.
  • People say it looks like squished 4th gen Firebird ( IMO).
Otherwise, its a decent car... except for the Sunfire's rep for being a "cute" car.

2004 Dodge Ram Regular cab 4.7L V8

Cons:
- The 4.7 was the bastard child for dodge, it was old world engine design and yet was offered along side the hemi but was on its way out (ALSO VERY LITTLE aftermarket for the 4.7).
- The seats might as well have been a bench, there are no bolsters. This is exagerated while driving over rough terrain.
- NO LIMITED SLIP DIFF - only came on hemi's
- Cylinder 8 spark plug is buried underneath the dash/firewall, 2 universal joints in a ratchet to change it.

Pros:
- Manual transmission (not available with the hemi's until model year 09).
- LOTS of space behind the seats ( I had a custom speaker box that was close to 9 Cubic feet behind the seats and you still had full range with both passenger and driver seat).
- No need for lift/jack/ramps to change oil, can literally sit strait up under the car in the engine bay to take the filter/drain plug off.
- gets off the line faster than an auto hemi, have surprised a few cars..
