ANyone here own or has driven a modified SRT8 Challenger?

I am considering getting one as well in the next 2 months when one of my cars lease is expired. I drove one today and it was a heavy boat. The only think I like about the car is the look to be honest.

Now My Camaro was nothing to rave about but after I modified a few things the car is so much fun to drive.

I wonder if anyone here has one modified or has driven one modified. I am not concerned to hear about Horespower upgrades just suspension, wheels, brakes and exhaust. I want the car to handle well I just dont know if the platform its based on is capable of handling well or not.

The Challenger is based on the 4dr 300C...like the Camaro is based on the Holden cum G8 platform. But the Chrysler cars are fully 2-300 lbs heavier. The SRT8 version has similar power (and similar "upgrade" potential) to the LS3, but is hampered by it's greater heft...

I have a slightly modded 06 Charger SRT8. It's really tail happy (lots of torque). Great 4 door car with some *umph* if you're in the market for that. I think if you dropped it an inch to an inch and a half and maybe got some thicker sways, it'd be alot better, but a little harsher , on the road. The stock set up is fine, but like I said, it's tail happy.

tail happy is fine I know they make lots of suspension for the SRT8 stuff, coilovers, shocks, springs etc. I wonder how the car reacts to these upgrades.

The Camaro transformed amazing after the suspension work and I am not even done yet.

I really would like to have a black SRT8 parked next to my Black Camaro in the garage.

My friend had one modified to handle really well, but he didn't care for the ride quality and switched back. I believe he used Eibach coilovers.

What suspension modifications have you completed/intend to complete?

Youd probably get a better response if you posted this on a challenger forum.

chargerforumz.com is a better place to get information like this. They are a great bunch of folks over there...very responsive and helpful too.

I would definately say when it comes to the "performance" handling the Camaro feels lighter, and more nimble than the Challenger...so for the fun factor "stock to stock" I would say the Camaro is the car...add some parts and things change.

For just cruising along I personally like the feel of the Challenger...we have Eibach suspension, wheels and tires and a ATI Pro Charger on ours....the wheels and suspenion makes it feel like a totally different car...much more fun to drive agressively...friend of mines is stock and it feels weird to drive it now.

Both are totally cool cars...

Just my opinion
