Finally it's here. 2010 CGM SS
Hello Folks,
Reintroducing myself. I have been a long-time camaro lover since I was a young kid in the 80's in my brother's 69 Z/28. Fast forward to 5th gen and I drool over the Z/28's and 1LE's for the past many years. On to my ordeal er, purchase. I had limited supply in my area so I landed a 2010 from a PA dealer and being in MA it was quite a pain in the ass. The car comes to me via shipper and I am so excited to see it pull down my road. Ten minutes later my excitement would turn to almost shear regret. The driver had locked the keys in the car stuck on top of the trailer in a residential neighborhood, meanwhile my wife whom I hadn't informed pulls in with my young son to see all of this and proceded to shower me with guilt as an irresponsible father of two toddlers. I had to call two tow companies who couldn't access the locks without breaking the side window. Finally called a locksmith who used the bars and two inflatable wedges to get space. Paid 200 cash and wanted to just tell him take it back. Wife is still pissed at me and I may soon be living in it, but I love the car though and happy to be in the V8 community. I had a track geared 350z prior which I still need to sell! |

CONGRATS on the ride, and Welcome to our happy little corner of the net, and to Camaro5/6. There is a BIG fridge on the back porch with anything you can think of in it...help yourself...of course only take what you can LEGALLY have. Make yourself at home on one of the big fluffy couches, kick your shoes off, put your feet up on one of the tables, yes we are allowed to do that, mom's, wives', husbands, girlfriends and boyfriends here don't care....and take it easy.
oh...btw....every once in a while a food fight breaks out...so you may not want to wear nice clothes here. Welcome!!

Thanks fellas. Yeah the wife is still out for blood. My mod plans surely took a hit. I have to lobby to keep my sedan as my daily
 I should've gotten the super low mileage 1LE I really wanted.

Explain the skipshift.
My issue is 5th gear and the gate. Why is reverse up to the right. |

That's one heck of a start to ownership of it!
Skip shift can be eliminated through tuning. Put an exhaust system on and you won't be able to hear your wife! (probably should not do that without permission, unless you have a really cool playhouse for your kids you can live in!) |

It locks out 2nd gear. I let it slow a bit or shift to 3rd the few times I have encountered it. I bought a plug-in a few years ago to bypass it. It's still sitting on the bench. You can find your owner's manual at the Chevrolet Owners Center. Don't worry about reverse when pushing into 5th. There is a lockout solenoid that comes on when rolling 2-3MPH. Better than the V6 guys to the left and up, like 1st. They get a beeper so they don't accidentally hit it when reaching for 1st.
