Late model Camaros in Cars 3?

Just got done watching Cars 3 on NetFlix (not a bad movie BTW) and to me it looked like a lot of the "new high-tech" race cars really resembled late model 6th Gen Camaros.

Is it just me?

I actually named my 17 RS 'Vert "Jackson Storm" b/c my fifth gen looked like Lightning McQueen and the new one is more techy and sleek. You're not alone. :-)
