Best Camaro for me?

Alright, so I'm looking to get a Camaro. So far I've been looking at the 1969, 1998-2002 Z28/SS models.

Which of these is easiest to maintain and would probably get the most mpg? (What gas milage should I be expecting in a camaro with automatic transmission?)

I've heard something that the 99s or so were easier to get tuned, is this true?

1998-2002 SS would be easiest to maintain since

A.) It's newer.

and

B.) It's MPG is higher from 30 years of advanced technology.

Is there any real difference between the 1998-2002 models or would any of those do?

1998-2000 had the LS1 intake manifold and an EGR system. 2001-2002 has the better flowing LS6 intake and no EGR system. Go for the later years if you get the fourth gen.

Alright, so a 2002 would be my best bet?

Is there anything I should looking for or looking into when looking for a used camaro?

Obviously the newer the better but there really isnt any real noticeable diffrence between 98-02. The egr is no big deal, it can easily be removed if you wish and you could swap the intakes easily and cheaply, There was alittle diffrence in the heads but again not enough to really make a noticeable diffrence. I personally dont like the steering wheel on the 98-99 and the interior was slightly diffrent. My suggestion to you would be not look at year but instead condition, miles, and price. Other than that there isnt enough diffrence to say one year over another.
