Camaros biggest Challenger is out!!

Well title says it all, by one of my offices the train unloaded some nice new Dodge Challenger's. They look awesome. I love the black with flat black stripe.

Prefer the Camaro. Unsure what direction I am going to go in the future but it will be fun...

The Challenger is one nice looking car,but I think the Stang will be the target.Even with the challenger and Camaro coming out.I thing the Ford will be the benchmark, just because they sell so many of them.We can all thank the Mustang for the Camaros demise. They were outselling the Camaro/Firebied 2-1,even though the F-bodys were better cars.

I think the challenger/camaro rivalry will be bigger, they are more evenly matched cars. I think they are going to weigh around the same? both have over 400 horse power, assuming the SS gets the LS3, where as the mustang has 300.... *cough* LLT *cough* and they are both new kids on the block... again.

Incredible how Dodge came out with the Challenger after all the Camaro concept hoopla and then gets the production model revealed and for sale sooner. GM needs get up off its a**.

I'm sorry but you have missed the mark. we all want this car out now. hell most of use would have liked it in 2003. but guess what s*** happens. a complete redesign, UAW plant pay off/transfer, new technology and new architecture take time. Where as taking a 300C architecture and enlarging a previous design with a pretty much basic design for engine and suspension that's already in use. . .come on. chevy is doing the right thing in making the camaro right. it's not sitting on it's ass. it's not coming out with a mediocre car. it's coming out with guns a blazing and ready to fight. I don't want no half azed car sitting in my drive way just because you think chevy needed to release a car before it was ready.

While we are all anxious to have the Camaro sitting in our driveway's, there is a whole lot more engineering that is needed to bring the Camaro to market than the Challenger. First off, the Challenger already had an assembly line ready and waiting. The Camaro didn't. When the concepts were shown, the Challenger's platform had 3 cars out already, the Camaro's Zeta platform had 0. The Challenger's interior is practically the same as what you find in the charger, the Camaro will have an almost completely unique interior.

I didn't read up much about the challenger cuz, honestly I don't care for dodge...but it was explained to me that the challenger was just a altered version of the charger..no?.. much like what they did with the firebird & camaro..?
sooo..if that's really the case..its obvious they'd come out with something before GM..cuz they just basically /copy /pasted & photoshopped a new car (theoretically speaking)...

Exactly!!!!!

I'll take grounds up engineering over a re-worked platform any time

lol my dad's co-worker drove one of these yesterday and said the interior was the EXACT same thing as in the Charger. He also told me that the Challenger was worth like $40,000 dollars or something, but now since they're making like 200,000, they're worth nothing at all lol. He didn't tell me how it drove, but i'll ask him. Oh btw, why doesn't Dodge put a manual in the Challenger? Why put a slushbox in it?

The SRT8 challengers, the first ones produced MSRP'd for about 40,000. They'll still cost that much...because they're SRT8s...but they're also going to start producing the SEs, and RTs...those will be cheaper.

And they're not making 200,000. I'd be surprised if they top 50,000 total.......
