If Apple is interested in building little white self driving (i)pod cars ... why on earth would they buy a super car company that has a clear focus on making driver-centric cars? Thats pretty much going in the exact opposite direction.

Not sure Apple has either the standard car maker or the standard car enthusiast philosophy so this move does not baffle me.

The new 2026 iMcLaren is here! Ten years ago today, Apple brought you the iPhone 7 and did away with the headphone jack. Why? It was old! History! It had been around for way too long! Prefer to have options of both bluetooth and wired headphones? Too bad, the future is HERE. Now we have even more innovating technology for you! Seats in cars has been a thing for way too long! Now, take a nap in your self driving car - ON THE FLOOR! We did away the seats altogether! Look at those other cars with their seats... that technology is decades old!

(iMcLaren S will come with an actual mattress!)

Can't say that I disagree with you but you know that the 7 comes with wired headphones right?

If Apple does buy McLaren, will owners of the older McLaren's have to update their operating systems? I'm not sure a first year McLaren will be able to run IoS.....sort of like trying to run Safari on an Apple IIe.
