We hired my youngest sons best friends dad to do all the drywall and tile work in our bathroom. Did a great job and was suposed to finish up while we were on vacation. Known the guy for quite awhile and gave him the garage door code. Also left him a few hundred in cash to poor some concrete at the end of our driveway. Came home nothing was done. Finally got ahold of him and he says he's sorry the wife took off with the kids and he's been on a bender ever since. ok I can see that. Told him to take a few days. Showed up one more time and did a little work and was coming back the next day. No show. Calls me one day with his new number. South Carolina area code. Arg! This morning my wife wakes me up cause she can't find her two diamond necklaces or her flat gold chain. I start looking. My parents 50th wedding anniversary gold bands are gone. A bag with my grandparents and parents silver baby spoons is gone and who knows what else. Amazingly my dads origional white gold band is still there. Now I need to call the cops, take a better look around and call insurance. What a crappy friggen morning

man I'm sorry to hear that. It's so unfortunate that we have people like that in this world. I try to teach my boys not to be so trusting b/c there aren't many honest people in this world...

Hate to say it man, but it is your fault. You can't trust anyone, period. No matter how long you have known them. If someone is going to be doing work at your house you need to have someone there that can watch over them if need be, and if you can't, then wait till you can have someone watch over them. It shouldn't have to be that way, but this is what happens when you don't. Hope you get the stuff back, even though chances are very very slim.

Sorry to hear about your troubles. I thought you were going to tell us he took your Camaro for a ride (garage code) and damaged it. Still what he did sucks. Bigtime.

Yeah I know I shouldn't have. I try to trust everyone until given a reason not to. Also the silver ID bracelet my mom gave dad on their 1st anniversary. It opened up and had a pic of a smokin hot brunette that they both claimed was mom at 18. No wonder he married her

File the report dude. Stay on the property crimes det's ass to make sure he follows through.

In the meantine, check the shops around his area. Call them if need be first to ask them if they have anythin like ur stuff....don't say its stolen or they suddenly won't have it. If you find the property there, they will be at a loss. They don't want that.
