This person is just a lazy parking dumbass. There I said it! I have to say if you can drive 80 everywhere you go and can avoid problems or wreck and protect your car in the lot like it has stds then your a pretty damn good driver!

The other day, my wife and I were at the pump, filling up the Suburban. We watched as an otherwise normal looking woman in a Toyota Matrix spent 10 minutes trying to get her car near a pump: pulling forward through an arc, then backing through the same exact arc, over and over. Then turning around (by driving into a nearby supermarket parking lot, but pulling up to the wrong side of the car... gotta start over. Then back, and forth, and turning, and unturning, and ending up perpendicular to the pump island (my vote was for her to stop then, and just fill up). Then more pulling through a curve, and backing up in exactly the same curve again, over and over. The gas station attendant even came out to observe the circus act. She finally got close enough to the pump that the hose would reach, albeit about as stylishly parked as a Kia with offroad tires on one side would look in front of a Beverly Hills boutique.

She did not appear to be impaired/ drunk/ high/ suffering from a stroke/ frontal lobotomized/ blind/ Courtney Love/ elderly/ from Florida/ head injured/ a Kardashian/ comatose when she was OUT of the car, but damn if we didn't finish up and haul ass out there just to be able to get as far away from her as possible by the time she got back on the road.

But she's probably still trying to figure out how to EXIT the place.

I nominate Spartan01 for president. I would like to also propose some new rules: Priuses, CRVs, and PT Cruisers may never--- never, ever, EVER--- get into the left lane. Ever. No, seriously. They are remanded to the right lane, even the right shoulder, for some.

Any vehicle in the left lane--- regardless of speed--- who has (A) nobody in front of him, and (B) anybody behind them, is eligible for CTC (car to car) missile attack. Boom. Wreckage drifts to the side, problem solved. This would have a remarkable deterrent effect, so I don't think that more than a dozen cars ever would meet their demise in this fiery blaze of shame. The other pigheaded rolling road blockers would learn not to be pigheaded rolling road blockers.

Those who fail to pull into the middle of an intersection waiting to turn left on a green light, but instead choose to sit BEHIND the line, until the damn light cycles red again, and we're all still sitting there, are eligible for the "push" method of getting going. Multiple cycles of the light will make them eligible for the "ram" method.

From the circumstantial evidence of that parking job, I'd say it's pretty poor as well. Possibly there is more to it though, IDK.

Ironically, with semis (which I drove for ten years), this effect is often due to governed speeds on the rigs, coupled with the driver in the RIGHT hand lane being a jerk.

A few years ago, I was driving a governed (62 MPH) rig, when I came to a truck doing 45 MPH in the right lane. As soon as traffic was clear, I went for the pass, and that dick sped up to match my speed. I could not get past him. I'd slow, and he would slow... we got down to 25 MPH on I- 5. I would try to speed up, but couldn't get it above 62 MPH. The driver simply stared at me, laughing his ass off at the way he was able to toy with me. He'd laugh, point, flip me off... he was simply getting his rocks off by screwing with a random person. I couldn't even "stand on the brakes" because of the nineteen- mile- long string of cars behind me, pissed as hell, and, not knowing the circumstance, pissed off at ME.

I seriously considered simply ramming that futher mucker.

Eventually (20 minutes?), I was able to drop behind him again. Of course, he dropped it back down to 40 MPH, but since he "owned" me, I had no choice but to stay there.

I'll never understand random jerks.

Anyway... when one truck is passing another, trucker courtesy dictates that the truck being passed "back out of it a little," in order to give the passing truck a sooner opportunity to get back into the lane. Most truckers observe this code... some do not.
