My mustang build it shaping up...

Dropping off my 347 stroker kit off at the machine shop here in a bit
For those interested I bought a '66 mustang last month. Stroking the stock 289. It's going be a little monster. Ordered my roller cam yesterday, it's a 282 grind.

It's a Coupe, a project, needs all new interior, floor pans and rear frame rails. Not terrible though. Help having a Body man as a brother.

When I recoup on the rotating assembly, I'm going to by some Pro Comp alum. heads for it.

Told the wife it was going to be for our 11 year old.... LOL Of course I'll be shopping for a stock 289 in a few years.

Waiting on my head studs. Picked up some alum. heads for about what it would cost for a set of reworked heads.

Nice. Got any pics of the car? I'm hoping to start up my Chevelle soon. First engine rebuild so I'm a little nervous.

HA HA... Trust me the motor is the best looking part!! I'll see as long as it doesn't break my camara.

Bhobbs - This will be my first engine build in over 15 years or better. First Ford for me. I've always wanted a vintage Mustang and this one was priced right. I'd like to eventually trade if for a chevy or pontiac.

Here is during break in.

Had a little bit of a vacumn leak on the intake due to a bad gasket. Hope to have her back going this week.

Bought some floor pans a few months ago and got a wild hair..... Still have plenty of trimming and fitting. I'm amazed that the pans have not started rusting yet!! LOL

I can't leave anything alone.... Installed a "retro-fit" Lunati roller cam, taller intake, mild port / gasket match job and built me a shaker scoop.

Got her running last week, great feeling.

Believe it or not the scoop started out as a 30's headlight. I'm still in the fitting stages of the scoop.
