Chevrolet to Reveal Cruze, Corvette Variant, Small Car at New York

Chevrolet Showcases Strongest Lineup in its History
Brand will introduce three new vehicles at the New York Auto Show
General Motors

2014-04-10

NEW YORK – Chevrolet will show off its strongest lineup of vehicles in the brand’s history at this year’s New York Auto Show. Next week, Chevrolet will also introduce three new vehicles, including a new addition to Chevrolet’s small-vehicle portfolio, an updated Chevrolet Cruze and a new variant of the seventh-generation Corvette.

Each of these diverse vehicles will help broaden Chevrolet’s portfolio and provide customers with fresh, new choices. In fact, 80 percent of the brand’s lineup is completely new or refreshed within the past three years.

“We are continuing to transform our product lineup to ensure we offer our customers the best designed, most technologically advanced and safest vehicles in Chevrolet’s history,” said Brian Sweeney, U.S. vice president, Chevrolet.

From performance vehicles to small cars, Chevrolet delivers easy-to-use technologies and features that add value and enhance the overall customer ownership experience.

It’s a strategy that has made Chevrolet America’s favorite line of performance cars for four consecutive years. That leadership is expected to accelerate this year as Chevrolet offers enthusiasts 13 performance models – more than any other automaker.

Chevrolet has also overhauled its small-car portfolio with the introductions of the Cruze, Sonic and Spark, which are bringing new and younger buyers into showrooms. Since Cruze’s launch about four years ago, Chevrolet’s overall share of the small-, compact- and mini-car segments has more than tripled – up 221 percent – with nearly half of the customers new to Chevrolet.

It's possible. GM is aware there's a massive gap between the Stingray and Z06.

If Adam ever makes it to NA it would most likely have to be the second gen and it would be a Buick.

As dumb as this may be, I'm thinking this might not be D2XX. The fact that GM said "updated" and not all-new or next generation is suspicious.

Guessing GS

May be the Astra convertible for Buick.

Updated is a puzzler on the Cruze.

Does make you wonder, doesn't it? I guess it could be an MCE, because somehow I doubt they would have an auto show debut for an updated engine lineup. Though the possibility of an MCE begs the question, why do an MCE for 2015 when an all-new model is supposedly due in 2016?

Y don't we have the cruze hatch or wagon over here I'd would have bought one of those instead of the sedan.

Sonic SS AKA the Super Sonic, to compete in the hot hatch segment.

You are among the few that would buy such a car, and that is why they don't offer it.

I know China plans on selling the current model alongside the D2XX model. Kinda like how GM still builds/sells the W-body Impala right now.
