Honda Reliability My Airbag!

If you own 1 or more of Honda's highly popular and so-called reliable Honda Civics, Honda Accords, or Acura TLs, you could be driving a deathtrap. Honda has recalled 440,000 mobile deathtraps as a result of airbag inflators that do not work appropriately. For those who feel safe in their Hold-On-No-Damned-Acceleration (Honda), be aware that anyone driving a vehicle that can go over the speed limit can cause you to be another fatality or serious injury resulting from this issue. I personally hope this reminds the American people that imports are neither safer nor more reliable that the products built and designed by companies that give back to the US and Canada. Article is by Leftlane News.

Discuss.

Airbags are a bad idea in the first place.

Yeah....so do I...But it won't. :(

Nevertheless...such a recall is quite serious for such a do-no-wrong automaker. Something like this...on such a scale...SHOULD have been caught in testing for age and wear. The same sort of testing that determined such a tiny thing like dash-spanning ABL wouldn't last very long in a Camaro... tsk-tsk.

Nice play on words, btw.

I have to admit that I didn't originate the term, but I have yet to see anyone in a rusted Accord with mismatched panels and a bee hive for a muffler break the speed limit. It's really sad when your green Subaru on a second engine with grinding metal sounds blaring from the wheel wells accelerates, without any effort, past a revving Civic with a fully depressed gas pedal. Stop trying, kid. Your car sucks worse than mine, and now it can kill you!

I remember the first time dealing with Honda on a part issue. Talk about sticker shock. Take any AC Delco part and double the price then write HONDA on the box.

That's an 8th Gen Civic, this recall was 01 so that's 7th gen. Different bags.

With all the crashes posted here in the Camaro, we know how safe these cars are. It happens to everyone, lets face it, a car is a compilation of OTHER manufacturers parts......scary business! Pick your vendors wisely.
