New member and Camaro owner from East Texas

Howdy. New member from the East Texas area. I picked up my 2010 Camaro 2SS about 3 weeks ago and couldn't be any happier. I went from a 2010 V6 Mustang (white with tan interior) that made about the same amount of horsepower as it did testosterone. So it's a big jump from that but so far I love this car. I love the culture and love the history of the Camaro.

I bought it from a local dealership used and got a pretty good deal on it. I had been looking for months because my Mustang was having some serious electrical issues from a wreck where I was hit two years ago. But I found this one and knew it was the one. I was talking with a salesman here in town and he told me they were going to give me $13,000 for my trade-in which is the most anyone has offered me and they offered me a 5.4% APR, which was great considering I'm 19 and couldn't have a cosigner. So I have them send this Camaro from a dealership under the same ownership to this local one. It comes down to the paperwork and they completely lied to me. Had me at a 16% APR, were giving me $10,000 for my car and jacked the price of the Camaro up $4,000 from the internet price. I was heartbroken. I wouldn't be able to afford it at that rate. Well, I had them send it back to the original dealership and I go to do business with them. Long story short, they got me right where I wanted to be with payments and financing. The car is great and modded to perfection. It's got a painted stripe on the hood, the roof is painted black as well as the spoiler. It has powder coated black rims and an exhaust system on it already. A few of the the emblems were already black but I recently just plasti-dipped the rest. I have big plans for mods coming this spring after joining the LSX Monsters here in town. All-in-all, just happy to have the car and be able to join a community like this.

Just a funny story to add: literally leaving the dealership I'm heading home with the new car for the first time, the pride is just flowing, then BOOM.... I get pulled over going 68 in a 65 by a State Trouper. He asked me why I was speeding and I just kinda chuckled. Needless to say, he let me go with a warning. Definitely a story for the books.

CONGRATS on your ride and Welcome to our happy little corner of the net, and to Camaro5. There is a BIG fridge on the back porch with anything you can think of in it...help yourself...of course only take what you can LEGALLY have. Make yourself at home on one of the big fluffy couches, kick your shoes off, put your feet up on one of the tables, yes we are allowed to do that, mom's, dad's, wives', husband's, girlfriend's and boyfriend's here don't care....and take it easy.

oh...btw....every once in a while a food fight breaks out...so you may not want to wear nice clothes here.

Welcome!!
