Tiling my garage........cuz I'm afraid of epoxy!

I was going to coat it, then epoxy, then I said what the hell...just tile the damned thing. Buying the tile tonight. Should be delivered in the next 48 hours. I'll take some before and after shots. Have less than $500 into it by the time I'm done for 600 sq ft....not too bad. Lots of labor though.
So here's the before shots:

3 hours on it last night. Using bag mortar so a little more time investment in mixing. Laid almost 8 rows on the 2 car side. Remembered how bad this is on the knees (did my foyer 3 yrs ago), but forgot about how bad it is on your shoulders, back and hands. I know, what a wuss. Decided to stagger the tiles to avoid the inevitable crooked grout line. With 21' to span front to back it would be too easy to lose the line, staggering lets you off the hook. Anyway, 109 tiles of the 531 total are on the floor. Doing the math:

3 hours = 109 full tiles done
9 hours = 350 (estimated) additional full tiles to lay
6 hours = 72 cut tiles to lay (allowing extra time for cutting and back buttering
4 hours = grouting
1.5 hours = acid wash
1 hour = seal
24.5 Total hours

Day 2 = 72 tiles in 2 hours (got home late)
181 down and 350 to go!!!
No update tomorrow as I'm flying out in the AM to go pick up my CTS-V in Boston. 2 hour flight there, 11.5 hour drive home.

Yes, LOL, wife has to do something while I'm at work so she does 4' increments. Luckily the 1 car side is spotless.

Good to hear, you don't want any bonding issues with all that work.

Thanks......its 3 1/2 bays......the half bay is where my work bench (you can the see the vice on the bench in the pic) and the 4 1/2' wide stair case is at that takes you up to the attic/storage, which is the full length of the garage and is totally lit with 8' florescent lighting.

The tile looks good but I would be afraid of it cracking under the weight of my car or dropping a tool on it.

Update.

Day 1 = 109 tiles in 3 hours
Day 2 = 72 tiles in 2 hours (got home late)
Day 3 = 140 tiles in 3 hours (wife and I are starting to get a system. It's called just hand me the tiles and I'll lay them myself.)

321 down and 210 to go!!!

Goal is to get all the whole pieces laid tomorrow (Sunday) and then start with the cut pieces each day after work next week. If I time it right, next Sat/Sun will be grouting and sealing and then done.
