Get nail polish off car paint?
So while visiting my mother in Baltimore City, MD some douchebag city dewellers put a dab of nail polish on the wifes door handle.
I think that it like any pain off a womans nails will fade away? or should I use nail polish remover? (I dont want to damage the car paint) Any help is appreciated. |

I think nail polish remover would probably harm the clear coat worse than goo-b-gone or a rubbing compound.
I'd take a DA polisher to it first and see if you can't remove it that way Nick C.

There are acetone-free nail polish removers, if you're going this route, its the only way.
If you cant find any, normal remover can be used (though I highly advise against it)...acetone is indeed a strong solvent, its effect on fully cured clear coat is normally insignificant, assuming the exposure time is short. Keep it away from plastics though. Even some polish remover (acetone-free or not) will haze your cured clearcoat, it is normally easily fixed by a quality polish. Just be quick, as any prolonged exposure can dissolve both the coat and the paint. Also a few rinses of the area immediately after "treatment" are not a bad idea. Whatever your decision is, if you use a solvent, it is always a good idea to test it in inconspicuous place first. Always keep in mind the less solvent gets on your car's clear coat, the more you minimize any potential damage.

Maybe use a compound like swirl-x?
I'd try to get it off as quick as possible, have you asked Adam's Car Care what they recommend? Nick C.

Try a magic eraser. That's how I got crazy glue off my paint after much research.
