Ford is recalling roughly 465,000 model-year 2013 vehicles around the globe for leaky fuel tanks, reports the Associated Press. Included in the recall are popular models like the Ford Fusion, Explorer, and Taurus. The leaks could potentially lead to a fire, though Ford says none have been reported relating to the issue.

Also included in the recall are the Ford Flex, Lincoln MKS, MKT, and MKZ. The Police Utility and Police Interceptor, fleet-only models based on the Explorer and Taurus, respectively, are also named in the recall. Ford said owners could smell gas or see the leak on the ground.

Approximately 390,000 affected vehicles reside in the U.S., with 23,000 in Canada, 7600 in Mexico, and the remainder in Europe and other regions.

Another recall affects 500 2013 Lincoln MKZ sedans equipped with the engine block heater option. The insulation on the block heater’s cord could crack in cold temperatures, increasing the risk of electric shock and corrosion.

even an ironic recall.........who designs something made to heat the engine block in cold weather with insulation that cracks in cold weather?
