Awful experience with Firestone
So yesterday I swapped out my heritage wheels with some 19's I got from a member, I knew when I got them it was time for some new tires so before I got them I talked with firestone 8 days ago and the guy confirmed they were ordering me some 245/50/19 All Seasons on their buy 3 get 1 free special and they would have them by my appointment today. Sweet deal because it was around $600 all in. No one ever called to advise otherwise so I put these new wheels on myself yesterday and went for my appointment this am and the guy was like oh those were on "extreme" backorder so we ordered you these other ones which are not all season and cost around $500 more. I was dumbfounded and they were basically like go screw yourself and your crazy tires. So I left there and now I am hunting some 19's down lol. So looks like what I thought was going to be $600 tires is going to be over a $1000 now as the only place that can get me some all seasons is Discount Tire and they advised they couldn't get them for 2-3 weeks.

www.tirerack.com has the Pirelli P Zero Nero All Season in stock for that size, shipping out of Delaware, much quicker than 2-3 weeks.

Yeah those are the ones i'm getting from discount, a little quicker from tire rack but with their shipping cost it makes it about $150 more.

Ah, Grassahoppa! You are learning! Firestone is as bad as Perp Boys, Jiffy Lube, or any of the other chain theives. Took my truck in there a while back, to use a coupon for a "free" AC inspection... my AC had recently stopped working. Firestone's somber news was that it would take a MINIMUM of $700 just to SEE if it was repairable. I declined, decided to try my hand at it. After a full minute's inspection on my own, I discovered a missing belt... which cost me $18. Since I had no clue what I was doing, it took me nearly five minutes to install it. Problem solved, that was three years ago. And, THAT, my friend, is how Firestone does their customers!

Yeah, I never go to chains unless its for tires. Firestone is also the one that I went 2 years ago for brakes on my old cadillac cts with a $99.99 per axle coupon that specifically said included pads, labor and rotor turning only to have them tell me that my car was ineligible and it would be $299 for the rear and $375 for the front brakes. Yep.
On a side note a call to the district/area manager of firestone had them agreeing to match my quote on these more expensive tires. So I guess we will see how this works out |

I suspect like any place, things can be hit or miss... The Firestone just down the street has been GREAT! They let me out in the shop to snoop while they are working on my vehicles... There is also a guy that works there that does a great job on alignments... They have gone above and beyond on a couple of occasion...
