Ford Capri "concept"

I know you guys will HATE this because it's got a FORD badge on it, but at least it's not a Mustang. I found this whilst surfing the internet and it's what a new europen Ford Capri might look like. I've had a number of Capris and I love this look, in particular the quad halo lights. So cool!

I still think that the Camaro has better lines, but that is really interesting. I've never heard of the Capri. Is it only in Europe?

We have some Ford Capris in Switzerland... the older ones are cool. But the coolest car is still my old original 428CJ Mustang :-)

The Capri was Ford of Europe's answer to the Mustang. The first one's went on sale in 1969. The final Mk3 Capri rolled off the production line in 1987 and was never properly replaced. We had the Ford Probe and Ford Cougar (think FWD new edge Cougar, not the old Mustang based one), but non captured the spirit of the Capri.

The Capri was also sold in the USA.

I've heard of a 'Capri', but it's always been a Mercury. 2 seat little convertible.

I believe, in the USA, they were sold through Lincoln/Mercury dealers.

This is what I think of when I hear 'Capri'. The 1990-1994 model.

Friend at work used to pick on my 'bitch car' Aveo. Until, that is, he started driving to work in his wife's Capri. haha I was like 'and you call MY car a bitch car?!!?'

....but obviously it's a photo shop of our beloved Camaro and Ford can only dream

the original Mercury Capris were actually nothing more than rebadged Mustangs... they were available during the early years of the fox body Mustangs and were actually quite nice... I had a buddy who had one, and it was a fun ride... but it was that gawd awful cream yellow color and looked like a real pile of junk... but it sure could haul some butt... well, in relative terms considering it was the '80s when he had it... lol

this is the generation of Mercury Capri that I remember... these McLaren models were few and far between here in the States, but they were nice when they were new.
