Ford Copies Camaro!!!
Hey, if Ford keeps it up, they may one day have a decent looking copy of the Camaro to offer. Guess by then Camaro will be on to their next design...oh well.

That doesn't look anything like a Camaro to me, or for that matter it doesn't even look like a Mustang.

The hips and the hood are similar to the camaro, as is the general profile of the car. Too bad the front looks like a hungry catfish. coulda been a cool car.

It literally looks nothing like a Camaro. Ford ripped that front end clean off an Aston Martin.

It is. Ford owned Aston Martin. Maybe they still do.

I do see one similar line, and that's how the rear quarter takes a blocky/muscular stance over the rear wheel, but when you see the rear of the concept, it's more of a sloping coupe design versus a blocky and very "traditional" flat trunk design. So there's that. But that concept is really really different from the "2-door sedan" that the Camaro is. The Mustang concept is almost more of a notch-back design.

I sure hope Ford makes the next Mustang like the picture on this thread so i will have no interest in ever wanting another Mustang.

Time for a re-design
Mustang has had the most similar look since 2005, I think it is about time for them to have a totally different body style. I see enough Mustangs on the road that it begins to become an eye sore.
The new design will at least be a fresh take on the Mustang; somewhat looking like a cheaper Aston Martin. As far as stealing lines off the Camaro, I don't see it. Looks like maybe just the bumps in the shoulders, but nothing drastically similar to the Camaro. It is just enough to hint that it is still in competition with the Camaro and Challenger. Ford seems to be moving the Mustang towards a more sleeker look. It'll be interesting to see what Chevy and Dodge will do. |
