I put my 1994 Z28 in autotrader, and Kijiji.com ( free listing ) ..... sold in a week and a half... Buyer found the car in autotrader, but I did get a few hits on kijiji....I'm going to miss that car

I put my car on craigslist and has three hits the first day. Sold it this past Thursday for what I was asking.

I've been looking at a used car for my wife, so I'd recommend:

stangforums or whatever the mustang enthusiast site is
autotrader.com
cars.com
everycarlisted.com
vehix.com
craigslist

I put my Z28 up on Auto trader, Kijiji, Ebay, and Craigslist.org. i also put it in the classified section on 4 message boards. It took about two weeks....
Do the research for Blue book value. Craigslist is the thng that got it sold.

Well don't promise him 2 weeks nowdays. Took me about 7 months to sell my RX7 and I had to cut the price way down.

Just saying market is rough so 2 weeks would be lucky. And Mustangs... it's flooded with used stangs right now.

Advertised in local paper and Craigslist. The eventual buyer found it on Craigslist. Watch out for scammers though. I had a couple of people contact me that in some form or fashion over seas. They may have been telling me the truth, but I wanted to sell to someone that was somewhat local, so I could meet them face to face if they had any questions. I've heard of too many scams that involved long distance purchases.

I think cars.com is the best deal. Cheaper than Autotrader and includes a free carfax report. You cant beat that! I put mine on cars.com and ebay yesterday.

I used both, though ended up using cars.com the most because I let my car sit on there for a while trying to get the price I wanted, and I think cars.com lets you renew indefinitely. Took me about 4 months to sell my Z28.

I tried for months to sell mine on all of the above mentioned places. Never got any serious bites, even after dropping the price way down ( this was when gas was like $4 a gallon and I get at least 32mpg). Gonna give it another shot when the order comes closer.

Make an ad here would be a good place to start. So you can get some feedback on what it's worth. Need pics of engine and interior too.

Well you were trying to sell an RX7 j/k

It really depends on what car you are selling, and what shape it's in. My Z28 was in pristine condidtion.... For a car that was 15 years old, it looked like new. You also have to consider price... everyone thinks their car is worth more than it is, be fair / realistic on the price, and it will sell.

Craigslist is a good place to start. I had hits on my Colorado, but no one was too fond of the bad trans. (which I have since fixed and am now keeping it).

Only one thing - watch out for scam artists. Sometimes someone (a friend of mine had this happen) will show interest and then say they are mailing a check and will arrange pick up shortly after. You will get the check but it will be for more than the agreed amount. They will contact you saying that they sent more by accident and if you could return the difference to them in a check. So you deposit their check and mail out yours back to them for the difference. Problem is, they already deposited yours by the time you find out their check bounced cause it was bad. They got free money. Just watch out for this scam!

Otherwise, Craigslist is great!

Craiglist = meet at public place and check all paperwork twice.

There was a guy that got jacked for his motorcycle out here recently they said to meet him at some apartments and pulled a gun on the guy then rode off.
