Jeep: The Restoration Chronicle

I'm currently restoring a 1940's CJ-2A. It's a 9 year project that's beginning to come to fruition. Long story short, I began this back when I was in middle school with my grandpa and my dad. The Jeep's location has changed several times. From a garage in Elkins WV, to a basement in Bel Air MD. She finally returned home to Elkins 5 years ago and has been a work in progress with my dad and I ever since I started college.

Here's a short list of things I hopefully will have time to do around August:
1) Drill the holes in the body tub to match the holes in the frame.
2) Get a piece for the steering milled to the correct dimensions. We have gone through the same part 3 times with the store. The depth the slot needs to be milled is different from Jeep to Jeep so it seems...
3) Bolt the body on and get it aligned with the fenders.
4) Lay the hat channel the body rests on.
5) Welding. Lots of it.

This isn't a comprehensive list. There's more to do but so little time between summer school and the normal semester.

And before you all get to this:

Pics of before we began will be posted when I have access to them. Those are 8 hours away at my parents house and must be scanned for you all to see them! New pics will be taken and uploaded when I work on it next!

I have a cj7 I'm wanting to restore but it might not be fixable at this point. It's been out side for a few years

Mine was sitting in a farm forever till my dad got it when he was going to college. They last a good long time.

Unless the frame's cracked you can probably do a restore on her.
You can buy NEW body tubs, fenders, etc. from reputable places online.

I keep looking at the old Overland Pick-Ups . I really don't need any more projects but you never know.

Ready for some pics!
