Yeah right. POSSIBLY w/ a power-adder, but no normally-aspirated V6 is going into a Corvette.

The V6 and mid engine rumor stuff always pop their head in to say hi when the new model is ready to release.

My thought was...if Chevy will do a V6 in a Corvette then how far off is a 4 cyl in a Camaro.

Hope both are just rumors.

Well with federal mileage standards going like they are I say its not out of the question at all, a twin turbo v6 would get reasonable fuel economy and decent power as well

A twin turbo v6 gets roughly the same mileage as a v8.

Now that I think about it, the 2013 Hyundai Genesis Coupe 3.8L V6 is pumping out 348 horsepower normally-aspirated. The C6 base model is making 430 horsepower, which is only 82 horsepower more. It would be weird, but a forced-induction V6 could make a lot more than the current 6.2L very easily, and in these days of expensive gas and emissions Nazis, I guess it's not as far-fetched as it would have been even 5 years ago.

With direct-injection you can control the fuel mixtures better than standard EFI, so you don't need to run turbo motors pig-rich to avoid detonation and run lots of timing.

Maybe not do it to the Camaro, but if they could make a different car along the lines of a Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X FQ400 (403 hp 2.0L 4 cylinder, AWD) it would be cool.

They put a v-6 in the camaro that weighs whole lot more than the vette ,and I would be willing to bet that the new one will be even lighter. So why is it so are to believe that they would put one in the new vette. I say go for it. I would have never believed that I would own a V-6 in a full size truck but my new Ecoboost Ford runs as strong if not stronger than any v-8 truck I have ever owned.(even my MAX)

Until the editors of any car magazine are working at GM in new product development... I believe nothing the magazines have to say.
