New episode of Top Gear 2-21-12

It looks like Muscle cars will FINALLY be featured on Top Gear. What the heck took so long? This is the American version and we're well into Season 2 and we've seen almost nothing but Europe stuff.

Yes we saw the F-150 Raptor and Dodge Viper last year but not much beyond that. We did see a Camaro driven by the Stig but only because he was chasing them around the track in and old trans am.

Anyway, it looks like the Mustang will be mostly featured on tuesday's episode. They are racing a Mustang against a real mustang horse.

Looks like it will be fun to watch.

After years of watching the UK version I find the American version unbearable. It's just hard to watch for some reason.

+1. They dynamic between hosts and brash "whatever" approach of the UK version is missing. So it appears very scripted. Hopefully they can turn it around...it has potential...

They drove a car through BBC headquarters for gods sake. Not through the parking lot, but THROUGH THE BUILDING. They made cars into boats and all sorts of other stuff. They are actually funny and they have the funding and support to back up the show. Watching the american version is like spending a day with your parents.

Overall, the UK version is much better. The host have more of a chemistry, it is obviously better funded, and there is just something very unique about that British sense of humor that can't be found anywhere else.

Still, I like the American version too. It definitely has its moments, and the fact that it is a bit more focused on American cars is nice, particularly when they do the cheap car challenges.

Really? Ive always said they need to do that episode for obvious reasons. I think its safe to say there are 3 hosts so each one of them will say one is better than the other 2.

But it will still be interesting to see how they test them out.

If you watched the "Star in a reasonably priced car" segment on the UK version, the British guests are incredibly witty and can counter Clarkson, and the American guests appear stupid by comparison - they just don't know how to counter the wit of Jeremy Clarkson.

I wondered about this - why are Americans in general very "stupid" when it comes to interviews? Don't believe me - just check youtube for the huge difference. I have yet to see a British guest on Top Gear that wasn't witty, and I think only Jay Leno was the only American I've seen that could match Clarkson.

It's obviously got something to do with the education system. The Brits are learning something that Americans aren't. Heck that's why Americans routinely can't tell the difference between:

Their vs There vs They're
Irregardless vs Regardless ("irregardless" is not a word you twat!)
Oriented vs Orientated
Loser vs Looser

Drives me crazy.
