2002 Nisaan Pathfinder transmission service

It's nearing 60K miles and a recommended transmission service. Of course the mechanic recommends doing a flush but I read conflicting info on doing this.

A flush would replace all 14 quarts, while a drain and fill only about 5. The fluid looks and smells ok, and I am having no issues. So, should I just do a drain and fill or go through with the flush.

Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated.

more or less depends on how it has been driven. It used for towing or lots of stop and go, uphill/downhill, I would do the flush. What the manual say for 60k miles tranny service?

There is no towing and no hills. The manual says "replace fluid", that's what's confusing. Does that mean drain and fill or system flush to replace 100% of the fluid?

If it was my car, I would just do the standard tranny service. They will always try to sell the more expensive flush job to you, more $ for them but beware of some shops, you pay for a complete flush and all they do is the standard job.

Thanks, I'll just do a drain and fill.
