Long Distance Relationships

I Live in Texas, she lives in Pennsylvania.

I met her on Black Friday while on vacation and we have talked everyday since. Most times for 2-4 hours every night. Great conversations and I hate talking on the phone. Last week I went to visit and we had an amazing time together. Amazing. BUT

We were talking about options and everything, and both of us kind of came under the realization that a long distance relationship will be tough. She said she likes me, and wants to be with me but she just can't do it being 28 hours away.

Am I crazy for holding on to a possiblility????

Not really!! It's possible. I live in NM and my now ex-fiance lived in Kansas. We didn't see each other but 2x a year, and we made it work for 5 years. I went to college and he moved in, but what ended it for us is that we met young and grew apart. I think we got engaged when I was 17 and we were together a year before that. So, we had a lot of room to change. Depending on the age it could happen and maybe not. Like they say if it's meant to be then it will. Try it out and see what happens, and if things fall apart then they do. At least you tried it, and don't have to live your life wondering "What if" You know?!?! Plus, if you two were meant for each other you will come together again. Life is too short to not take risks!

My buddy lives here in NY his now wife was on vacation from Texas 10 years ago when they met (on new years). They made that work for 5 years, got married and now she lives here and they have 2 kids. It can happen, if the love is there.

I would say, don't do it. At least from the stories that I've heard. But who knows...you could be the exception! As Rogue says, if the "love" is there, it can work.

I recommend to do an analysis.

If you have dated women before, then you should know by now what you are "looking for"...what kind of women "match" with what you are sure is most important to you personally.

1) If you already know she does something you can't stand and something you will never accept (in case you hypothetically think she might be someone you will marry)....then just assign this person as a friend-with-benefit status...or perhaps no status.

2) If you think someone like this is EXTREMELY hard to find and you know you wont meet someone like this again, then maybe see what you can do to pursue it.

3) Make a list of PROS and CONS....your time and hers is valuable.

If you ACTUALLY talk on the phone for more than 5 minutes and you DONT MIND then THIS SOUNDS LIKE A GOOD CATCH.

dump her, make it easy for both of you. Your in the puppy dog stage where everything about them is amazing. But, if you met her on vacation then you havent spent enough time to know her. The longer you wait the harder it will be on both of you. Unless you move there or shes moves to you, it WILL NOT WORK. Move on, theres millions of amazing women in the world.
