I had one. 1970 Opel GT 4sp. 1.9L (I now have a bike that big! - lol)
The head kept cracking.
As a 16yo Kid in 1979 , I never had enough money or sense to repair it properly the 1st time so I was always under the hood.
Fun car for a kid though.
I used to tell people it was a Corvette until I washed it in hot water, causing it to shrink.

I check 'em out on Ebay once in a while to reminisce...

Oh, and I have a 1/25 AMT/Ertl model - same color as mine was; Red

I'd get one, if I had room.

I was looking at the Saturn Sky for a while - it is called the Opel GT in Germany.

I'm sticking with modern American Muscle for the time being - Camaro and Challenger

About 30 years ago a neighbor had one with a well built 350 in it. Scary fast! Could have had better breaks and suspension then it would have been more fun.

Stylistically, me too. I was just attracted to the Sky/GT name for old time's sake.

Let's just say it's a stange beast..... OK not a beast, unless you drop a 350 in it. Strange, just the same. The drive train is unusual, but not real difficult to work on. Watch for rust at the rear window corners.... like where the vents are. The headlights are manual flip ups. The interior is kinda tight, hope you're not too large.

You can find some good examples for a reasonable price. They have a forum to get better answers.
