Zeta ?
What makes the Zeta platform different? Body? Sub-frame? Size? Weight? Suspension?

different from what? the F body?
Well the Zeta platform is actually the holden platform used on the G8. Over the Fbody it's a front engine RWD platform with independent rear suspension. If you look at the G8 and the camaro side by side, they use a lot of the same things like the width of the vehicle, the interface for the DIC, the fuel door (and possibly fuel tank) location, and the firewall/a/c box seem to be in the same places. It's unfortunately not a very light platform, it's rather heavy, I'd say light truck heavy.. which is why L99s especially are SLOOOWW despite having lots of power... but thats just the way the ball bounces. |

The suspension geometry and placement, major structural elements, certain relationships (like dash to axle), engine and transmission allowances, certain pieces of sheet metal (like floor pans), and a whole host of other engineered bits define what a platform is.

Say what?
North American Alpha will debut on the Cadillac ATS...which is supposed to Base at 34-3450 lb. with V6 and 6-speed manual..."10.8 lb/hp" was their reveal. I don't believe a Zeta can get as low as that weight... |

There isn't exactly a 'current alpha platform' ... and the closest thing, the 2013 ATS, is going to be lighter than the lightest Zeta car.
