Need help lowering my 96 yukon: Updated with pics
Hey yall I just sold my 91mustang which was my daily driver and picked up a 96 yukon 2 door 4x4. I wanna lower it but I can find any good advice. The only kit I found online was for 3 inch in the front and 3.5 in the back. I wanna go lower. Any one have any input ?

Being a 4x4 isn't there a certain point where you can't lower it anymore?

The only 4x4's I know of that have been lowered required a bit more than just a kit.

Did one, new, back in '96 (3"/3")...and NEVER got a highway-speed driveline vibration out of it... Tried shimming the rear axle, helped but didn't cure it. If it's your DD and sees the highway, be very careful.
As to "slammed" 4X4s, maybe at the fairgrounds but as DDs? No way... |

Bring it to SoCal, homies over here can/will lower anything. They'd lower a damn train if they could get it off the tracks!

Without extensive modification that might be the best you're gonna find. 4x4's are harder to do with the front axels getting in the way. Torsion keys in the front and shackles and hangers in the rear with new shocks. I suppose you could bag it but again it's gonna be a lot more work and $$$$.

Heres some before after pics - I did keys in the front and smaller leaf springs in the back, Pretty easy and nice drop to close the gaps a little. Now time for paint.
