Saw an accident tonight.

Me and a few friends were hanging out at a Sheetz gas station looking under the hood of my Camaro when we hear a loud smashing sound. We then look over my open hood to see a truck (pictured below) in mid air flipping over. Needless to say I called 911 immediately. Here is the picture.

Apparently a Jeep Grand Cherokee (behind the firetuck) T-boned the pickup causing it to flip over. Both seemed to be, for the most part, all right as the man in the Jeep walked out on his own and the man in the truck was able to sit up after being pulled out by some bystanders.

Although a Camaro wasnt involved in this story I just wanted to remind everyone to be safe out there and buckle up. That one 2 second action could save your life. Tonight was a reality check for sure.

Just want everyone to be safe out there enjoying these cars!

Thanks for reading.

"after being pulled out by some bystanders" -------

Just as an FYI for everyone, do not ever do this. Unless the car is on fire, leave a person in an auto accident in the car and don't move them. You can make injuries worse this way. Not only that, but in some states if you hurt someone pulling them out of a car you can be held liable.

Same if they are laying in the street. Flag people down or use your car to block the road (if can be done safely) Do what you can to prevent more injuries.

Actually all but two states (Washington and Minnesota) have a Good Samaritan Law that prevents you from being sued in a case such as this.

to an extent. there are some things that are considered being done in the interest of safety and other things that are pushing it.

like trying to perform a tracheotomy with a ball point pen is a no-no...lol

Washington has a Good Samaritan law now.... It also has a law that says if you are a bystander with medical training, you MUST help! the Good Samaritan law was put into place when medically trained people were refusing to help, for fear of liability.

back in 1993 I was driving down a straight near an old coal tipple near Phillippi WV. it had just rained and water was puddling on the road, person in a Buick gtx was coming in the other direction and was hauling arse and behind me there was a chevy celebrity and a van. Lady in the GTX hydroplanes right as she passes me and hits the Celebrity right behind me head on!!! From my rear view mirror I watched the engine in the GTX shot straight up in the air and bounced across the road leaving indentations in the road that were there for years afterwards. needless to say I was one lucky guy that day. amazing enough no one was killed in this thing. a guy in the Celebrity had his ankle totally crushed, had to help pull him out of the wreckage. never forget that day!
