Pulled over by County Sheriff

Out for a cruise in the Convertible tonight and I notice the county sheriff following me and running my plate. Had the cruise set at the speed limit and didn't break any laws. Sure enough, the lights come on. I pull over into a school parking lot and wait for him to come up to the car. First thing he says is nice car. I ask him what the problem was. He said my plate is still registered to my old Firebird. I pulled out the transfer paperwork to the Camaro and he says looks good to me. Then he says "Damn state shutdown, still way behind I guess." He then proceeds to shut his lights off and talk about my car for a half hour. Checked it all out. Motor, trunk, interior, etc. Asked all about it. Options, HP, etc. Really nice guy. Said stay safe and no speeding. Nice guy. Looks like these cars are a target for the local force.

Glad you were able to stay respectful to an officer that turns out to be a cool car guy.

Now, just wait and watch as all the haters come in with their negative LEO stories

Normally the Sheriffs around here are the ones with the attitude. This was a really nice guy. New I didn't do anything wrong. Once I showed him my paperwork and he realized I was an old guy(42) and not out causing trouble it was all good. He had to be 25 or so. Just getting towards the end of his shift.
He didn't even bother to check if I had a front plate or not. I do though after my $115 ticket for it 2 years ago.

He still detained you for 1/2 hour. Im sure youd rather be doing anything besides talking to some deputy.

Don't think that bale would fit in the trunk of a 12 convertible. Actually he was a really nice guy wanting to know about the car, options, etc. Told me about his Harley and how he is wanting a convertible and really likes the Camaro vs. Mustang. I'll spend a half hour BSing with anyone who wants to talk about my car. Even if it is a county sheriff.

Thanks. We then encountered each other at a few red lights up the road. He was giving it a little gas and told me he wanted to hear it so I obliged him. Got the thumbs up then he was off on a call. 4 of my neighbors are local officers and I never have a problem with them. In fact, they love to stop and chat about the car and do so when they come thru my neighborhood on patrol.
