OEM Trans Am parts

Anyone know of any websites that sell OEM parts for a 2002 Pontiac Trans Am that is cheaper than the dealerships sell them for? Tried a few websites that sell the oem parts for the 5th gen camaros cheaper but unfortunately they have nothing for the pontiac. :(

Rock Auto and Autozone actually carry OEM replacement parts. Though they are on the verge of being dropped due to the age of most 4th gens. However I usually go through the dealership for what they have left when the part is specific to the Trans Am itself (interior trim pieces namely).

However, when all else fails I usually just run a search for 4th gen Camaro OEM parts and they're the same part number. Hope that helps any..

Quite a few things but the top of list right now is a brand new driver side mirror, the 2 lenses for the front turn signals, and the interior door panels (the hard plastic pieces. the originals are broken right at the top by the window.) for both driver and passenger side. Ive been doing alot of repairs and upgrades to the vehicle and the dealership Ive been using charge quite a bit for replacement parts for it. Just yesterday I spent $73 on the mast to fix the power antennae. Was hoping there would be a cheaper place to buy them from. :(

Junk yard diving!

I destroyed the right side of my car, all the OEM parts came off of various 98-02 cars, including an entire right rear quarter. Hell I actually got my Sport Gold emblems via the dealership through a company known as Vintage Parts out of Wisconsin. I'd talk with them to see if you could go wholesale via these guys or know of any other people they supply to. Use what you can, save what you can, and face the fact that 1 new door panel will run you somewhere north of 200 bucks IIRC. My passenger side mirror is actually an amalgamation of my original mirror with a new shell..

Turns signal lenses: Ebay it. Won't be new, but probably cheaper than trying to dredge one up from the stealership parts desk.

I plan on converting my interior to a '94-95 interior due to the sturdier plastics that don't crack. Supplier change in '96 ish was the cause of many later T/A's cracking their door panels. Thinner plastics couldn't handle the window sliding into the door.

You can get new turn signal housings from WS6Store. I replaced both of mine a few years back due to the stock ones leaking and being torn up beyond repair.

If you search on LS1tech there's a fix for the cracked door panels. I've gotten lucky and mine have never cracked.

Thanks for the advice! Im working on my husbands TA and the signal covers are leaking bad.

Also thinking about doing some junk yard diving as was mentioned above. Figured out whats wrong with the power antennae and $300 for a new motor because the teeth inside arent grabbing the serrated plastic sucks. Sucks parts for this car are expensive and hard to come by. :( But I appreciate everyones helpful responses.

I've jsut about exhausted all my options on this one. There is a square interior trim piece that the traction control button sits in on the 2002 trans am 6 speed. I need that trim piece. The original one, one of the plastic retainers is broken off and it wont sit in place. Ive searched all over junkyards, dealerships, ebay, google searches, ect and havent come up with anything so far. I'd love to find one in charcoal grey but at this point it doesnt matter as long as its not broken and the retainer clips are intact. If anyone has any idea where I can locate one of these it would be greatly appreciated.

They're all black no matter the interior. Hit up LS1tech for the guys parting out T/As and Firebirds. Another alternate would be inverting the switch plate on a convertable (hole is on the other side) to make it work. Won't have the arrowhead but it's a plate that you could make a base for a specialized plate:

I actually have one of those custom emblem plates to go on it actually. I went over to LS1tech and posted there like you said. None of the yards around here even have a trans am and the dealerships are scarce on parts for them. I actually thought about using the convertible trim if I could find one.

Tenacity is the key. These cars (even blown up V6 cars) don't even last 1 day on a yard. Last time I saw one it just had a blown motor (of which they had a running one on hand). Next day someone up and bought it and said engine.

Hell if I hadn't spent the 10K to rebuild my car after it ate a wall, I'd have probably made 10K easy off the parts. It's those little bits and pieces that always get snagged first..

I believe it. I've had at least 10 offers to buy my 96 Z28 and I dont even have a for sale sign on it. Im wondering if a late 4th gen Camaro traction control trim piece will fit or if they are different. hmm....

Still looking for a replacement but in the meantime 3M Emblem Glue has saved my butt. One nice line across the bottom and it held in place perfectly. And just in time too! Tomorrow she's gonna go greet her owner as he returns home.
