High School Vehicles

I kinda got inspired by another thread and found a picture of my 97 Silverado 4x4 that I started driving in 1998. My dad had put 80,000 miles on it and I was able to get an installment loan for only a couple grand to make to purchase and make payments. I had this truck to 2005 when this photo was taken. I learned everything I know about maintaining a vehicle from this truck and really wish I could find it. I really think it would look great in IOM and run great with an LS2 under the hood. Anyone else got pictures of their high school cars?

I don't have pics of the actual car anymore, but this is as close to my first car as I could find. Only difference is that the hood stripe on mine was a lighter shade of puke green... Ford Maverick "Grabber" - got it for my 16th birthday (LORDY I feel old now - that was close to 30 years ago! )

I had a 1970 red Cougar w/a 351. Tried hard 2 find a 69 Camaro, but most were pretty messed up in my price range.
I came out from school one day & saw my mom talking to this guy in a red car. She asked if I liked it. Said he wanted $1,900 for it, but she offered him $1,000 & he took it! I have a pic. I'll have to dig it up. I think I posted it quite sometime ago on another thread someone started.

I didn't have a car in high school. I was however quite jealous of the kid who had a pro street Chevelle. This was in the late 80s.

71 chevelle malibu,got it in 12th grade, it was lettuce green with green interior,I had it painted black with faint gold metal flake,I miss that car!

My '91 s10. learned so much about vehicles it will forever hold a place in my heart haha

eventually had this 400 sbc with a T56 trans



and sold 'er like this to buy my camaro. Don't regret it, but do miss it. LOVED that truck.

Holy crap LBM! I had the exact same car, but in red and black instead of green.

That is so funny!! My mom was gonna get me a Camaro, but dad vetoed that by telling her I would just get in trouble, and he brought the Grabber home... Little did he know that it was a special car - a gearhead friend was pretty impressed - bucket seats, shifter on the floor, and a totally modded engine that really made that lightweight car FLY! Too bad my HS boyfriend reached down and threw it in reverse when we were driving (to go back and get autographs of a band we had just seen - he saw them coming out the backstage door) - the damage was more than the car was worth...

I went to purchase a Red 1988 or '89 Carmaro IROC-Z in High School. Before I bought it I went to our insurance company. I lived in NY at the time. They wanted $10,000 a year. So needless to say I did not get that car.

Started with a 1990 Cadillac Sedan Deville (only pic of it is in the snow apparently). Traded with my dad for an '86 Bronco II. Three pics, one before and one after paint, and one of it totaled. Then I had an '86 Honda Accord - daily driver (also in the snow - was once gold then I painted it green) and a second '86 Bronco II - project - when I started college. Too bad we can't include college cars...

So, is that Dad in the pic with the Bronco totalled?? He has a look on his face that says "My son is a dumb a$$ - not that you are, that's just my impression of his expression! LOL!
