Ford would of just had 40k from me , No reason for GT500

http://www.motortrend.com/roadtests/...test_data.html

12.3 quarter mile
0-60 4.0
40k

Now who the hell wants a GT500 for 5-10k more?

This is possibly the best "muscle car" out so far too bad its shaped like a mustang but still if it was automatic I wuold consider a trade in of the 08 SRT10

Put some good tires on the GT500 and then look at what it would do to the Boss. It has
110 more hp than the Boss. Get a proper launch and it wins easily. And, it's not only about performance too.

I liked the back end on my 05 much better. I wish they would have done what they did with the front and sides and left the back alone. Then I think it would have been just about perfect.

I do really like the interior in the mustang better and overall I do believe they have the edge right now. I just can't get over the that back end. If you like it then your're either lying or your one of the very few. Even my ford fan boy buddies hate it.

I like the back end of the 2010+ a lot more than the 05s personally.

I guess I'm in the minority, too, as I prefer the 2010-up rear end treatment versus the 2005-2009 version. While it is a departure from what came immediately before it, it flows well with the overall re-skin that was done. Of course, I always get a laugh out of the Gen5 Camaro fans commenting on the rear of the newer Mustang when the ass-end of the new Camaro is nothing to write home about.

Like it has been said many times, looks are subjective so what one person hates another person might like. Thankfully we have choices.

Trouble is that I'm pretty sure you'll have a much easier time netting a GT500 than a 302. Plus, with markup you may get pretty close to the GT500 price anyhow.

I would agree with you if a stock Boss could beat the the GT500's best ET of 11.1@124 on stickies, pull over 1.0 G like the GT500, and run 10's with $120 investment like the GT500 can with a pulley swap.

Intelligent people don't pay mark up. Mark up is for "Fools" LOL Charlie Sheen reference.

I also like the 2010+ rear end's more then the dated 05 look and looks no worse then the rear on a SS.

I will admit when that pic comes up I like it too. The black car hides the hideous lower fascia and the wide tires help too.
Black is the only color I would buy in a mustang because of the rear fascia.
Red is just about the worse color on the new mustangs. It makes the rear fascia stick out like a fat girl on prom night.

I agree with you about the non painted lower facisa. It does suck that they didnt extend the paint down to the exhaust tips, and no longer paint the rockers like they did in earlier years. Oh well I'm actually cool with it because I'm going to be paint my rear diffuser down to the tips and both rocker's and replacing my plastic front splitter with a CF one. That should really set my GT500 apart from the other 2 silver 2011 GT500's in my state and give me the look I've always wanted since before I owned the car.

At least it looks better then the optional $2k unpainted SS ground effects that was going to be a must have back when I was researching Camaro's last year before I bought my GT500. The SS I wanted was going to be about $44k once I added all the options I wanted + painted ground effects package, that's when I started to look at the 2010 Shelby because it was only an extra 2k at $46k msrp, but all that changed when they announced the 2011 PP.
